Mountain and silver-back gorilla site.

Reflection-  It was fun making this site with my friends. Next time we could add some google drawings on to the site. I enjoyed learning some cool facts about gorillas.

 WALT- plan your writing following a narrative structure. Identify the target audience you want your writing to be for.

Refection- I really like making this fun and silly story with my friend. It was only meant to take 15 minutes but it ended up taking us 2 days, It was stilly really fun to make!

Mackenzie's and Katie's 6 sentence story!

I really enjoyed working with Katie. It was fun doing the drawings and i think we worked pretty well together.

LI:Observe how an egg reacts in fresh vs salt water to understand the concept of density.

first we gather our equipment. After that we put the egg in the jar of fresh water. (the egg will sink to the bottom of the jar) next we added 175G of salt to the jar of water and mixed it around. after it is mixed the egg with float.The egg floated in salt water because it has more density than fresh tap water.

I learnt that salt water has more density than fresh water.

LI: identify our prior knowledge about science.

science is another way of seeing the world. there  are different types of science like chemistry, geology,  biology and much more.

I would love to learn how to make elephant tooth paste.

refection- I enjoyed colouring in the background. I found it hard to cut out my cat. It was fun doing this art

Mackenzie's Te Reo maori poem

 WALT- translate my cinquain poem into Te Reo Maori to celebrate Te Reo  o te wiki.

reflection- I found it hard to pronounce some of the words. it was fun saying my poem. 

It was interesting learning new maori words.

I found it hard to find the maori words for my poem. It was fun writing the English poem.  

Amber and Mackenzie's poetry

WALT- Record ourselves reading our poems with expression.

Use interesting vocabulary and the correct language feature in our poetry. Follow the specific structure of two types of poem. write to entertain.

 

  Reflection-  We had to record it a few times to get a good one. ( actually we had to take 1000 takes to get the perfect one) but I still enjoyed recording it with Amber. The poetry was fun to make with amber!

WALT-  use interesting vocabulary and the correct language feature in our poetry. follow the specific structure of two types of poem.

I like writing the poems with Amber. I found it easy to make the cinquain poems. I found it quite hard to write the haiku poems but I still enjoyed making the poems. I found it interesting writing the haiku poem because I have never write a haiku poem.

Reflection-  I like drawing our character it was really fun drawing her outfit and hair. I found it quite hard writing about what others think about her. something I can improve on is using more interesting words in my writing.

Reflection-  I enjoyed writing about all the stories but I found it a bit hard to write the facts for some of them. next time I feel like I can improve on writing more facts.

WALT-write a script to support your narrative.   Reflection- We made a script to support our narrative. We took turns writing and reading it so it was fair. It was fun writing the narrative with Amber!

WALT-Write a narrative around a value or a moral.   Reflection-  I found it a bit hard to think about what to write. But Amber came up with an idea and I enjoyed making it with her.

Olympic writing

WALT-

Write to inform our audience about either an athlete or an sport at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics . Follow the information report structure.

Reflection-  I had to write three paragraph about artistic gymnastic. The first paragraph was about how to win and how to play. The second one was about the history of artistic gymnastic sport. The last paragraph is about a famous player of your sports and how many medals they have.

Camera angles

WALT- Refresh our knowledge around camera angles. Analyse how we use camera angles in different situations in our films.

Reflection- I learnt that with a close up shot it doesn't always have to be a person's face.

Olympic PMI chart

 WALT- Read to find information and question what the Plus / Minus and Interesting facts are about Japan hosting the Olympics in 2021

 

Reflection- I Learnt that there are so many different  sports in the 2020 Olympics.

Maths art

 WALT- Enlarge an image using a scale of 1:2.5

Reflection- We started off with a small piece of paper with what we were going to draw on it. Then we drew a 1 Centimetre grid over our picture. After we drew our grid we had to enlarge it on a 2.5 Centimetre paper. When we finished enlarging our picture we coloured it in.

Reflection-  We practiced a play called how maui brought fire to the world and then at celebration assembly we showed everyone. Next time I want to talk louder so more people hear me. I enjoyed watching them acted out the play.

How to make and launch a rocket

WALT-   Use a planning template to structure an instructional text and write in correct sentences.

WALT- writing instructional that others can follow.

reflection- Maki came to our school and showed us how to make rockets out of a 1.5 bottle. We made rockets because we entered into the STEM wonder project.

I enjoyed it because it was fun working as a team with my friends

My speech

 WALT- Write a persuasive speech that encourages the listener to agree with my opinion.Write a persuasive speech that encourages the listener to agree with my opinion.

Reflection-  I found it hard to write my speech.  I enjoyed saying my speech to other people.

 WALT-  Right angels, Irregular / regular shapes, Quadrilaterals, Symmetry, Parallel Lines, properties of 2D Shapes

Reflection-  I learnt that a octagon has eight sides because a octopus has eight legs. i also learnt that a Square has 2 parallel.

WALT- Create an animation that follows my 6 sentence narrative story.

reflection-   It was fun drawing the dolphin it was hard to find the right texture.

 WALT-  Edit our Easstle writing samples by using a range of editing organise our ideas to write a narrative using the elements of a narrative story.

Reflection-  I did well with my paragraph I think I can do better on my describing word.

REFLECTION : - By doing this mahi I learnt that nouns are names of persons,places and things I think it is interesting that verbs are words that end with ing

Reflection-  by doing this poem i have learn facts about Kotuku's  also i think it is interesting that the kotuku nests in Kowhai trees.
